In line with many clinical commissioning groups nationally, and in particular Luton, Bedfordshire and Nene / Northamptonshire, NHS Milton Keynes Clinical Commissioning Group is recommending to GP practices that they do not accept requests for repeat prescriptions from community pharmacies.  Work elsewhere has shown a high level of waste particularly when the patient isn’t contacted by the pharmacy before the repeat is requested from the practice.  See below where we have attached a leaflet that patients will receive along with a personalised letter from their practice.  Practices will also take the opportunity to promote sign up to on-line services.
