The ongoing discussions and negotiations between Galley Hill Residents Association and MK Council over the refurbished Community Building (Former Arts Centre) have been ended by the MKC. In an announcement which shocked the GHRA the Council ended negotiations recently. Bit concerned with the statement that a school for children with complex needs would need to be ‘risk assessed’. These children are often highly vulnerable and need safeguarding. Not to mention alot with require the use of hoists and specialist seating…
Thank you Danielle for your comment. I agree completely and came to the website to say similar.
So glad others found this comment concerning enough to comment.
I would plead with the authors of the GHRA newsletters to consider carefully how and what they write to post through everyone’s door. There are people on the estate with family members who would use a facility for children with complex needs. Insinuating the facility will bring risk to the community is misleading and could make people worry unnecessarily. Also, as someone who works with vulnerable children, everything is risk assessed nowadays. All children should have a safe place to learn and develop.
