Several of us still think this is a good idea as Galley Hill is looking tired and could do with some TLC.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mick Allsopp ( Galley Hill Ward Councillor \u00a0\u00a0SSTC ) is organising a meeting at The Galley Hill Small Meeting Place <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(above the shop)<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on Thursday the 17th of November at 19:00 to see if we can form a committee to take this forward. Please come along and join us or email <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">galleyhill.mk@gmail.com<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to indicate your support if you are unable to attend due to other commitments.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Things we would like to do<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (have we missed anything?)<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">discourage noise and antisocial behaviour, let\u2019s be good neighbours <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">litter, let\u2019s keep Galley Hill in good repair and tidy it will enhance our properties value<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">neighbourhood watch in each court would lower our insurance bills, we also need to discourage drug and alcohol abuse <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(discarded needles observed in bushes)<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">park your car on your drive, be considerate (don\u2019t risk blocking an ambulance or fire engine)<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the grass-crete verge has not been maintained and is failing suggest when council repairs they extend to provide additional parking spaces<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">encourage authorities to trim overgrown trees damaging pathways and blocking street lighting<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">repair and restore each court play area<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">repair and restore Galley Hill meeting place and workshops<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/body>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Update 1 Those of you with good memories might recall an attempt in 2013 to form a Galley Hill Residents Association.
